Dr. Andrea, a physician, acupuncturist and empowerment coach, is the Founder and President of the Pennington Institute for Health and Wellness located in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland where she provides comprehensive holistic health services with expert advice on age management and mind/body medicine. Her unique integrative treatment style blends conventional medicine with acupuncture, fitness, nutritional consultation, positive psychology, counseling and motivational support.

Dr. Andrea's recent book, THE PENNINGTON PLAN: 5 Simple Steps to Vibrant Health, Emotional Wellbeing and Spiritual Growth, is receiving rave reviews nationwide. Written with her mother, Dr. Abigail Pennington, the book presents a 5-step motivational plan for achieving optimal health and vitality of mind, body and spirit. Nationally recognized as a wellness expert, she was featured twice on the Oprah Winfrey Show educating the viewers about obesity and how to eat well for disease prevention.

Dr. Andrea regularly speaks at conventions and leads seminars teaching people how to live with increased vitality by overcoming destructive habits and addictions. On CNN, Fox News Channel, The Jane Pauley and The John Walsh Shows, she enlightened the public about the private emotional devastation caused by eating disorders and painkiller dependence. Currently, Dr. Andrea hosts her own radio show called The Holistic Approach for Clear Channel radio stations in Washington, DC.
