The ultimate goal of the Wellness Inventory is to teach and empower employees to create a sustainable lifestyle of well-being and vitality for themselves and their families. Based on the goals of the employee and/or company, a variety of educational resources are provided to ensure the success of the program continues.

In addition, the Wellness Inventory offers the trainer and administrator built-in management tools to assist in maintaining the efficiency of the program and to measure outcomes: view individual employee results from the Progress Tracker to evaluate progress, review customized group reports across 8 demographic categories, and utilize the group e-mail broadcaster and other communication tools.

The Wellness Inventory is based on the work of John W. Travis, MD, MPH, recognized as a founder of the wellness movement. Dr. Travis was a prot?g? of Dr. Louis Robbins, creator of the Health Risk Appraisal, while a resident at John's Hopkins and working with the US Public Health Service. In the early 1970s he decided to dedicate his life to "teaching people to be well" rather than treating patients. He opened the first wellness center in the U.S. (1975), created the first wellness assessment, and authored the classic Wellness Workbook.
